Too bad, I thought she was far and away the best candidate. But the way it’s played out, it’s tough to argue she had any path to victory at this point.

For my part, I’d say I definitely liked her the best, far and away. I can’t say if she’d have been the best candidate or not because best can mean many things. If electable is what’s best, then I’m not so sure. If you mean this is the person representing me to the world, then I’m probably with you. I think she’d play really well in Europe, for example.

I think people overplay electability. Polls basically show that people think that the candidates they like are electable. And for all the huge freakout about Be rnie not being able to beat Trump, the polls indicate that his chances of doing so are good.

I don’t take any exception to what you’ve said here, but I think it would be hard to underplay the electability thing if discussing Hillary Clinton in the last election.
